The CEyD aims to mobilise all the players
in the city and to strengthen Valencia’s organisational
capabilities to ensure that it acts on the spheres
of visibility or leadership set out in its joint strategy.
These areas are as follows:
- An advanced city in the knowledge-driven
economy; requiring a high degree of technological
development and the use of the new information and communication
technologies (ICTs) in both the research and business environments
so their benefits can be perceived by all citizens.
- A Mediterranean control centre;
maximising its potential for growth to ensure its continued
expansion and extend its logistical capability in southern
Europe.
- A city of urban, integrated, diverse, communal
and sustainable development; as a green European
city open to the sea, located in natural surroundings and
offering exceptional quality of life.
- An education-oriented city in the vanguard
of European culture; thanks to the ability of its
citizens to learn and live together.
- A city fostering the mutual autonomy of
all its people; a promoter of networks of human
progress engendering a culture of citizenship typified by
openness, plurality and a communal spirit.
- A reference point for new urban governance;
a new approach to governing cities.
